I am 29m and working in SME as IT Engineer. Currently serve notice till tuesday next week.
Suddenly, the company requested me to pay with my own money to repair company laptop before quitting with the company.
The laptop is in bad shape. The display is curved and the hinge is broken. However, the laptop still can be turned on and working fine but unuseable la.
HR PM me to repair the laptop and i told him that the laptop is damaged due to motorcycle accident last year when on the road to client site. I do have the police report regarding going to client site but didnt mentioned the laptop in the report. I also havent send any email regarding to the laptop condition also. I just gave it to my manager but he resigned already and got new manager.
The old manager give another laptop for me to use
In the meantime i also have mileage claim with car up to rm1000+ from januari till march this year.(car claim around rm0.45/km)
I am afraid that my salary also deduct and my mileage since my car AC also need to repair and i am broke. TT is there a way to not get finalised by this or how do i defend myself.
