A player attempted to retrieve a ball and went beyond the no-entry area as designated by the railing. This area is fully railed and marks the boundary between the play area and the walking area. The individual then fell three floors below. There was no hole in the floor and no broken railing involved.
The railing and netting are installed to mark this boundary and to prevent balls from flying out of the building, but they are not designed to support body weight or to be crossed.
CCTV footage has been provided to the police to aid their investigation and to minimise speculation and rumours.
Everyone on-site - friends, family, and our team is very shaken and still processing what happened. We are cooperating fully as the situation is reviewed and will continue to support all parties involved.
