People often joke with me that I’m not Malaysian cause I don’t like durian or cause I don’t speak Malay super well. Has anyone else also been told this before, if so, why? Curious to see what it means to be “Malaysian” to most people.
Edit: I’m not asking if not speaking BM means I’m not Malaysian, I’m asking if you have ever personally be told that you’re not Malaysian enough for something silly. Please stop shaming me for not being able to speak BM fluently, it was not a choice.
