Are employees from prestigious companies actually that capable?

Genuine question. My current company previously hired a lot of people from big name firms like the Big 4 or well-known ecommerce platforms (like orange or blue app)

But I’ve noticed something weird. Many of them have been in those companies for years, yet their working style is shockingly messy. Basic stuff like documentation, ownership, or just communicating properly.

It makes me wonder if this is normal for people from those environments, or if my HR is just hiring the wrong ones.

I always assumed coming from a “prestigious” company meant you’d be super structured and efficient, but now I’m starting to question that. Anyone else seen this trend?
