Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some guidance on my situation and would really appreciate your thoughts.
My current financial position:
- Liquid savings: RM159,000(Some stocks, gold, crypto included)
- Non-liquid assets: RM20,000(EPF)
- Total net worth: ~RM179,000
- Monthly commitments: RM200 (insurance)
- No debts, don’t own a car and a home.
- No income at the moment, and I don’t plan to return to the previous type of work I was doing and looking to learn new skill.
- No dependents
I’m trying to figure out the best way to move forward without burning through my savings. My main concerns are sustainability and making sure I’m not making dumb financial decisions out of fear or uncertainty.
Some questions I’m struggling with:
- Should I prioritize finding any income source quickly, or can I afford to take time to figure out my next career move?
- Is it worth putting part of the savings into safe investments (FDs, money market funds, ASNB, etc.) for better cash flow?
- Any ideas for low-stress or flexible income options for someone restarting from zero?
- How is the EPF looking for someone my age? Should i contribute some of my cash to it?
Happy to answer any questions! Thank you
